Since 1998, audiences from all over the Mid-Atlantic have enjoyed the beach party atmosphere at Sons of Pirates performances. Sometimes billed as a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, “Sons of Pirates” is much more, playing the beach music of Bob Marley, the Eagles, James Taylor, Kenny Chesney, the Beach Boys and many others. The band's concerts are infamous for their audience participation. Grab a chair and settle in for a trip to Key West without the airfare. This free live performance begins at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Baker Park Band Shell.
All Summer Concert Series performances are free to the public, but the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. All items collected benefit the Frederick Food Bank.
Returning for the 2012 season is the Celebrate Frederick 50/50 Raffle. Attendees are invited to purchase a raffle ticket for $1. The winning ticket holder will receive 50 percent of the proceeds collected each evening. The remaining 50 percent will benefit free community events presented by Celebrate Frederick.
The performance is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Baker Park Band Shell. All performances are weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather please visit www.CelebrateFrederick.com for news of event cancellations. Decisions regarding weather are made by approximately 4 p.m. If weather is inclement at this time please visit our website.
