Local nonprofit organizations may be interested in an upcoming seminar offered by the Frederick Nonprofit Alliance. The alliance, which is a committee of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, is hosting “Strategic Planning on a Shoestring” July 14 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Community Living, Inc.
Paul Frey is presenting the seminar to assist Chamber-member nonprofits with saving money in their strategic planning process.
Most nonprofit organizations need a strategic plan to define their operational strategy. The plan may help the organization better define who they are, who they serve and how they will achieve their goals. The process can be very costly and many nonprofits are looking at ways that they can reduce their operational expenditures in these difficult economic times.
“In this economy, many of our local nonprofits do not have a lot of resources they can dedicate to organizational development. However, all organizations should still be thinking and acting strategically. We hope this session will be helpful in that regard,” said Shuan Butcher, chairman of the Frederick Nonprofit Alliance.
Community Living, Inc. is located at 620-B Research Ct. (Solarex Park), Frederick. Registration is required for the event. For more information, or to sign up, call 301.662.4164 or visit frederickchamber.org.
The remainder of the week will also be busy at the Chamber. Other events include a general membership luncheon Tuesday, a Chamber Connection event for prospective members Wednesday and a filming of Chamber TV Friday.
